Why

Composed this piece back in 2015 shortly after the tragic Bataclan theatre terrorist attack in Paris. I remember visiting Paris just a few days later and being deeply affected by the sight of soldiers carrying large guns in what was once such a lively and vibrant city, even at the entrance of Disneyland. If you're passionate about jazz and feel inspired to explore this tune, please feel free to offer your own interpretation or arrangement. However, it's crucial that the mood reflects introspection, and it should provoke questions about the impact of war and terrorism. Ultimately, this piece serves as a tribute to the victims, positioned amidst the tensions of the world.

Additionally, the recording, which features me on flugelhorn and the exceptional playing of pianist Paul Giordimaina, can provide you with a good idea of the sound and mood I envisioned for this composition.
