Sonata For Winds

This Sonata for wind quintet, divided in three movements, is a work of highly contrasting moods and emotions. The opening Burlesque is a witty movement in a polytonal idiom and contrasts sharply with the more sombre Dirge complete with a military style fanfare towards the end of the movement. The ensuing Moto Perpetuo is a challenging rhythmic tour de force that builds up towards a very exciting climax at the end of the work.
