Virtues Three Virtues. Three World War II aeroplanes. Three musical movements. Faith. Hope. Charity. Fides. Spes. Caritas. The triad of virtues is imprinted in our collective unconscious. Three internal forces.
Like the age-old female personifications beautifying frescoed ceilings mesmerizing the mind through our vulnerable human eyes; whilst bringing us back to the here and now.
Fides. The allegorical significance of Faith is the veiled female passionately embracing the Holy Cross, blindly trusting and accepting the Great Unknown. The music is joyfully melodious and sure-footed runs fast-paced. It's that energy of being free from the shackles of fear and doubt.
Spes. The personification of Hope is the ethreal woman entwined to the anchor that firmly secures a ship from when the seas of destiny are rough and treacherous. This movement is softly slow like breezy emotion yielding that reassuring grounding of the soul when we unconditionally surrender to the hope that life will be just like golden sunshine.
Caritas. Love. An intimate allegorical representation of pure maternal symbiosis, as a mother breastfeeds her beloved child. The symbolical apex of life that is born out of love. This movement is alive with a musical stream gurgling energy like blood rushing through the human body with the possibility of all that is beautiful.
The vibrant crescendo unites the three movements evoking memories of life and goodness prevailing over darkness as the three planes triumphantly circle the skies over limestone houses, domes and bell towers, keeping Faith, Hope and Charity safe in their palatial alcoves from which they soothe the jaded souls of those who still believe, hope and still love against all odds.
