CONSTELLATIONS – for piano
The music for ‘Constellations’ was originally composed for the project Ħrejjef: a performance featuring an actor narrating a series of Maltese folktales accompanied by a piano cycle written specifically to enhance the drama of the story. While I was still composing the music I received an invitation to premier my work in Chicago for the INSAP conference at the Adler Planetarium. The music had to be related to astronomy – hence the title: ‘Constellations’. The premier in Chicago was performed by pianist Paul Schrage.
