Composed in 2023, "Besieged" is a concert piece for symphonic band that depicts Malta under siege and the subsequent victory over the Turkish Empire in 1565. The composition is structured around four main motifs. The first motif is quiet, evoking a sense of sadness and anticipation as the siege looms over the island. The second motif represents the siege itself, characterized by turbulent and unsteady times, incorporating Mediterranean and Arabic notations to underscore the conflict between the two sides. The third motif reflects on the losses of the Maltese people during the siege, featuring an underlying theme of popular Maltese traditional music. The fourth and final part celebrates the victory parade and the glorious triumph of the siege, symbolizing the hopeful future that awaited the Maltese.

Beseiged has been recorded by the Filarmonica di Firenze Giacchino Rossini under the direction of Prof. Giampaolo Lazzeri, in the composer's album "Pieces of Malta" in 2025.
